Of Basketball and Snow

Two very special events decided to come on the same day for our ten-year-old son Spencer.

Today is his very first game playing for the Warriors for Christ Homeschool Basketball team. We have attended games and cheered from the stands for this organization for all my kiddos’ lives. It began nearly 18 years ago when I was pregnant with Mackenzie. It started out as sort of an intramural 5th and 6th grade team. It has now grown into a great organization with five teams from 5-6th grade to Varisity. We play other homeschool teams, private and public schools. And we have even had a team or two take the state championship in the end of the year homeschool tournament. Spencer is chompin’ at the bit to don that black and gold uniform and get out on that floor tonight!

To top it off, the kid is crazy about snow. He’s been asking for weeks now just when it would snow AND stick. Well, this morning he opened his blind to find a thin layer of his favorite fluffy white stuff stuck to the ground.

At least for one strappin’ ten-year-old Michigan boy, life is good…

Snow dusted and ball-bouncing blessings,

Karen

I wish you lived closer…we’re having dessert at MaryBeth’s on Thanksgiving and it would be oh so fun to have you join us….have a wonderful weekend with your family…miss you! Shari
