I love when the seasons change.
Okay, with an ice storm and 30 degree weather still here in Mid-Michigan I’m not sure spring actually got the memo that this past Sunday was its official first day. However, I am gonna think positive and offer a spring decor giveaway anyway!
Here is a peek into a little of our spring decor. (If you click on any of the images, they will enlarge.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our fireplace mantle. Most of the decor came from last year’s clearance section of TJ Maxx. :-)
Our dining room table complete with the cross our neighbor Ryan made when he was 5. He is now a 25 year-old father & a soldier in the US army. (If you’ve heard me tell the story of the little boy and his hand-me-down Schwinn bike, that was Ryan!)
The starting of my herb garden—basil & parsley—perched on my kitchen sink, along with a 75% off scarlet mini-rose leftover from Valentines Day. It will go perfect in our fairy garden of miniature plants.
I’ll spare you the picture of the pastel plastic chicken the boys have on the basement coffee table in their man cave. When you press his head, he lays a jelly bean!!
Now, to inspire one of you to get your spring on, here is this weekend’s giveaway. It includes:
~Some Bath & Body Works thick hand cream in my signature spring scent~ Butterfly Flower. (Yes, I have a scent for each season just like I usually only burn candles that smell like the current season too! I’m weird like that.)
~Speaking of candles, it also includes two wax melting tarts from Yankee candle in the scent ‘splash of spring’.
~ A bag of Choxie dark & milk chocolate caramels
~ A $10 Target card for you to purchase a new spring decor item for your home.
~A personalized copy of my hospitality book A Life That Says Welcome: Simple Ways to Open Your Heart & Home to Others. Lot of decorating ideas in there and some spring cleaning & de-junking methods too!
One winner will be selected from those who leave a comment on this post. So, tell us–how do you like to decorate for spring? Or if time is tight, simply say, “I’m in!” Winner will be chosen randomly.
Well, I’m headed out-of-state to my son’s baseball games.
I’ll be the one on the sideline, sipping a hot latte, yelling for the team & trying not to freeze!
Sweet Blessings,
What a great giveaway! Spring is my favorite season!
I love spring! I add a ‘vine’ of spring blossoms to my fireplace mantel.
I like to pull out all my fake gerber daisies and silver vases for my dining room. I love to add other vases around the house with some beautiful fresh flowers- tulips are great for this time of the year!
I love decorating for the different seasons and holidays. I have a huge village set that is all pastel colors with bunnies and flowers. I even have a spring wreath that hangs on our front door. I haven’t pulled any of it out yet. This post has inspired me to get my village out and make the house look like spring.
I love a bargain and think of TJ Maxx as my own Easter Egg Search. Thank you for sharing the pictures and inspiration to celebrate the season. Let us all know how the basketball tournie goes, safe travels.
Flowers! Fresh flowers on the table…flowers make me think sunshine and spring. Preferably yellow for some reason. By the way LOVE A Life That Says Weclome. Have checked it out at the library multiple times…would love to own it :) Happy Spring!
I absolutely Love spring. After a long, hard, cold, snowy winter and it seems as I age it gets worse. I did try at the start of winter try to really think of positive things about winter. That would be the beautiful scenery that the snow blankets with all its glittery shine! But for spring… what is there not to like? The birds returning and singing, the budding of the trees, the beautiful flowers, the green green grass, No more coats, all the new baby animals being born, tractors in the field, gardens being planted, and the absolute best.. the Easter promise of HE IS RISEN !! HE IS RISEN INDEED!!
I’m in! Oh, and got to love TJ Maxx!!! :)
I always enjoy seeing pictures of your beautiful home! I really like how you decorated your mantlepiece; I have such a desire in my heart to have a home with a fireplace/mantlepiece one day to be able to decorate with pictures.
I’m very “season-oriented” too; to the extent that even hand soap in our house is season-based (warm vanilla sugar in the winter; fruity ones in the spring/summer; pumpkin or apple in the fall). I also like to rearrange things in the house when a new season comes; it’s very strange I know but it gives me a sense of actual change. Also, since the spring represents new birth for me and is my favorite season for that reason I try to get something to visually remind me of that like a potted plant (my husband bought me an orchid this week which was perfect for that purpose!).
I just want to take a minute to say I love your generous/giving spirit. Your giveaways have really encouraged me to look for more opportunities to give to others. Love and blessings, Karen :)
I just have not been motivated for spring this year, kind of unusual for me. Thanks for some inspiration! BTW-my daughter has a chicken that sounds just like that!
I’m in.
I’m in! Thanks!!!!
Flowers, flowers, flowers! Did I say flowers? We love having fresh flowers all over our house in the spring (by ‘we’ I mean my daughters and I – the men in our house really don’t even notice:)) Thanks for the post – I’m going to get out all of my spring decorations today (I believe every single one I have is from TJ’s! Love that place) and then head to Horrocks with the girls to pick out some flowers! Have fun at the games – our family will be cheering soon as well!
Count me in!
I don’t decorate much different, but I’m like you, I like to burn certain scents of candles during certain seasons. What a great giveaway!
I’m in! No decorating for Spring here. We still have a foot and a half of snow in the yard. It looks more like January than March : ( Can’t wait to be able to open the windows for some fresh Spring air.
I’m in!
Wow, I really needed this today. Still have snow on the ground (fresh this week) just north of Chicago. I’ve been grumbling and need to change my attitude. Thank you for being a breath of fresh, spring air! :)
I like to pick up fresh flowers and put them all over the house. it makes it so refreshing to remind yourself of spring.
I usually don’t decorate for Spring, but this year I want to…really bad! I need help! Thanks!
I enjoy decorating for the seasons, especially spring & fall. I change the wreath on the front door, decorate my dining room table, hutch and coffee table in liv.rm. i use lots of flowers, and candles. Thanks for the chance to win your book and other goodies.
Happy Spring, Happy Easter, Happy Happy Everything!!
How do I decorate for spring? Well, as a wife, and mom of a very busy teenage girl, my decorating style is simple: instead of coats, raingear, and a backpack spread about in the den, I have shorts, t-shirts, softball equipment (complete with muddy cleats to round out the look!) and a backpack! It’s fun to change out for the seasons, isn’t it? And as messy as it is, I wouldn’t change a thing!
I’m in!
I like to have fresh cut flowers in my home during the spring. Thank you for having a giving spirit about you, it has been an encouragement for me.
i’m in:)
What a sweet giveaway. I’m in.
I think the weather (live in NE IN) is a tease…. Summer sunny skies and winter temperatures. Someday Spring will arrive to be quickly kicked aside by Summer.
I love welcoming spring, too. I’m not too good at decorating, but I do like to have fresh-cut flowers in the home or potted plants loaded with flowers (even better!). I also like to decorate with sunlight – opening up those shades and curtains! (Is that too corny? It really does lift the mood and feel so welcoming!)
Thank you for this kind opportunity!
I like to bring in fresh cut daffodils and forsythia.
Karen- you are so sweet to us your humble readers! As a fellow Michigander, I too am looking for signs of spring. The chubby robin on our deck yesterday was just the thing I needed. A bunch of fresh tulips are the perfect spring decor!
I don’t decorate for spring…just started to decorate for fall last year…
I just love to open up all the blinds and let the light pour in for Spring. And this year, I am switching out my curtains in my kitchen. I have some white ones that I saved from our old house and they would work perfectly. Night and bright!
Never decorated my house for spring thanks for.the encouragement I thin I will tis year
Flowers and de-cluttering :)
Enjoy your son’s games!
I don’t usually decorate – but I would love to! Money is tight as a stay-at-home mama but I wouldn’t want it any other way! Thanks!
Sounds wonderful!! Happy Spring!! Stay warm!!!
1. Add more colorful, fresh flowers
2. Fruity scented candles and oils
3. Change bathroom decor to pastel colors
These are some of the ways I welcome spring!
Your decorations are great…I need all the help with decorating that I can get! I’m in!
I don’t have much for spring decor but I do love spring scents in candles and soaps… orange, lemon, grapefruit. Mmmm. I think I’ll take the advice of another poster and will buy some pretty fresh flowers for myself and my 87 year old grandmother! I get my love of flowers from her. Happy spring!!!
I love bunnies! So, spring/Easter is one of my favorite times to decorate. Cracker Barrel Country Store always has the cutest bunny decorations!
I’m in! Thanks Karen!
I love decorating for the different holidays. I have almost completed my spring decorating with Easter and birds/birdhouses. I live in Louisiana and unfortunately our spring doesn’t last too long but I love it while it does.
Honestly, I don’t really change my decor at all. Don’t really have the money for items for different seasons.
Flowers and fresh curtains!! Soft garlands and baskets of flowers!! Thank you! ~Amy S.~
Here in Maine we have not seen much of spring either, only a “teaser” on Monday! It’s still cold!!! Thanks for the spring giveaway…the way I like to decorate is to change out the table runners in the kitchen and hang something Springy, on the door.
Thanks Karen
Kathy C.
I love spring. Right now in Ohio it doesn’t feel very Spring like. I bring cut flowers into the house to decorate during spring. I especially like tulips.
Great giveaway. I could use those chocolates. For spring I tend to undecorate. It’s nice to clear out all the extras that have been hanging around since Christmas or after.
Spring seems so far off yet with all the snow around. But I have lots of lovely flowers around our home that are starting to bloom! Please include me in the giveaway..if it is open to Canadians, thanks!
I’m so in!!!!!
I like to put out springtime colored decorations. Not so much “Easter” only items as I like things to stay up for a whole season.
Yes, alot of STATES in the USA haven’t heard that it is SPRINGTIME YEt? LOL. We have been having nice weather in Portland Oregon for the past few wks, BUT, now that it’s spring, the weather has returned to COLD and frigid weather. I don’t know if Mother NATURE forgot about Spring this year or what? Oh well maybe summer will be extra long this year, I PRAY, God bless us all wherever we are.
Spring has sprung in New Mexico! Thanks Karen for this giveaway~it’s always fun to spruce up my home for the changing of the seasons. God bless~Lyn
Karen, You have done it again. Your home looks so nice. Don’t slip on your way to the baseball game. Hope you’ll win. Would sure enjoy having some of that spring smell in my home and be able to read one of your books.
We woke up to WHITE. So I can’t drink my coffee out of my spring mugs…looking for a wintery one. Decorating for spring for me usually means making sure all the Christmas decoration are packed away!!
Enjoy your baseball games. This is the first year my sons will not be playing little league because they are playing high school soccer. I enjoyed the 2-4 hours (when they had back to back games) just sitting in the shade, drinking cold drinks and reading. (A reprieve from the house and kitchen) Now I will be sitting in stadiums and under an umbrella from the sun or rain.
We thought spring had sprung here in Missouri but today we are with you Karen with sleet and freezing rain. What happened to the spring? I looked outside to be sure my daffodils were still standing and sure enough they were bravely looking for the sun!
I love to decorate for the seasons too and my house generally holds lots of color in the springtime! I have a gorgeous color-blocked table runner and then I like to pick a few flowers to put in a vase (lilacs are my fav) or put a small plant on the table. Spring is full of new life so anything green is a reminder of the New Life we have in Christ.
Blessings!
I love, and love to celebrate the seasons by changing up things in my home. So far I’ve changed my quilt back to my spring/summer quilt that boasts differing shades of soft blues and greens on a ivory background and added all of coordinating pillows, throws, potpourri, etc. I don’t have a lot of nicknacks that I switch out or put out, mostly I just ‘lighten’ here and there and work on veggie and flower containers on my patio where I enjoy sitting and reading.
Spring and Fall are my two favorite seasons and here in Kernersville NC the blooms are in full swing (as is the pollen!) so despite a small battle with allergies I am in full i.love.spring swing as well!
And I love the bowls on your table! :)
I am eagerly waiting for spring here in Montana!! Your decorations are wonderful! Thanks for the opportunity to win some great spring goodies! Have fun at baseball. :)
I would be thrilled to win your spring giveaway. I’m not always really good about keeping up with the seasons and decorating accordingly. Hanging on my front door is a snowman; in Texas, we’re out of snow weather! I’m a little behind, as usual! Thanks for considering me for the giveaway.
On our mantel are spring candles and stuffed bunnies, but directly under a Thomas Kincaid picture of the cross. My 12 year old son helped me take a large planter saucer, put dirt in it and plant grass seed, then made a stick cross which we placed behind a rock tomb. I saw this idea on one of the blogs I read and we thought it was beautiful. On Easter morning, roll the stone away from the empty tomb!
Love Decorating for the season! Any help would be greatly appreciate! Thanks for the offer- I’m totally in!
I am feeling so overwhelmed with Spring cleaning that I haven’t done any Spring decorating! I do agree with the Spring scents. I have switched my Scentsy products over to the Spring!
Each spring my husband cuts some pussywillow branches for me, and I arrange them in a vase and hang decorated eggs on them.
I love your spring decorating ideas Karen. I’ve never much been into decorating for the seasons – I really don’t like to mess with getting stuff out and then putting it away. I might have to start perusing the clearance racks for some things to use next year. I usually just decorate with the kids easter baskets when it gets closer to that time.
I’m also in Michigan and not enjoying the fact that I still have to scrape my windshield to go to work in the AM – But trying to find joy in the fact that at least there is not snow on the ground or ice in the trees! Oh Spring come quickly!
I have some nice artificial spring flowers that I put around in baskets and some little stuffed lambs that I put around a basket with eggs. I also have a spring table cloth (that I love!) with pink, purple and mint flowers that really perks up the dining room! I really like decorating for each season!
I’m in (and if I had more time to respond, I’d use that extra time to decorate for spring)!
I have a Easter flag that goes up as soon as possible and always reminds me that spring is on the way. I love SPRING and I love Easter, our reminder that Jesus rose from the grave!
I would love to win – I’m in!!
I am so ready for Spring…yesterday was a big storm…HIGH winds, snow..I have a few Easter things that I will be getting out this weekend…Last weekend I made placemats with fabric I got at Joann’s that has: He Lives, John 3:16, Rejoice, Jesus, Lamb of God all over it…So cool…
Spring decor for me is all about natural light and flowers. I like everything to look real clean cut and then I put a variety of flowers and fun vases around the home. As soon as it gets warm enough out, our windows are open, letting that wonderful fresh air inside. :)
Im in!
Central Indiana didn’t get the “spring is here” memo either! Love the bowls on your table!
Your Spring ideas for decorating are lovely! Count me in for the drawing….your give aways are such fun. Have a blessed day.
We get out and use the pastel dishes for a month and decorate the kitchen window with colored glass bottles, and of course, the Easter eggs show up!
Stay warm!
My version of spring decorating is spring cleaning! I know it sounds boring but all the stuff I have let pile up around the house because the kids have been stuckinside all winter is on it way out! And when I am done, my house will look completely new, fresh and ready for spring! Have a great weekend!
I usually just put on a ‘seasonal’ tablecloth and let it go at that. Unfortunately, we don’t have the extra money to spend on a lot of decorating. I know I can find cheap/free stuff, but then I don’t have anywhere to put the stuff anyway :-)
I’m in. :)
I have a spring-ish wreath on my door, and that’s about it so far…I try and add to my home decor each year (clearance is great! Wish we had a TJ Maxx!). So I don’t have much for spring. It’s a great giveaway, thanks!!
I’m in! Spring brings fresh life-and it is so needed in my life.
I’m in! Spring has sprung down here in MS! Beautiful flowers everywhere and 80 degrees, Love it!!
im in!
I’m In! :-)
I actually do not decorate very much for spring or summer. Only a few knick-knacks that I get out. My fav for spring is a ceramic basket, with pastel eggs around it, it goes on the kitchen table. Have a few bunny decorations that I like to put out too! Enjoying reading everybody’s decor ideas!
Love Spring!!! I’m in!
Thank you Karen for your inspiration!
Happy weekend!
I’ve never been much of a decorator when it comes to seasons and holidays. I think mostly because of our lack of storage space. I will say my mother-in-law is great at bringing me fresh flowers when she comes up to visit. Maybe this year will be the year.
I love to bring in fresh flowers for decoration.
I decorate with soft pastel throw pillows and freshly cut flowers around the house!
Karen, This year I announced it was time to pull the spring stuff out to decorate. My husband informed me he hates bunnies (all my stuff involves bunnies!). So this year, it is very simple – forsythia in apothecary jars on my mantle! I need some new spring that doesn’t involve little furry creatures!
Lynn
I love the clear spring air…and putting bare twigs into bases, watching them bud.
I love to get out my spring decorations and plant flowers!
I’m in too!!
I m in!
I love spring. The green grass and blue skies just cant be beat!!
It is spring here in NE Louisiana! Love getting all the light pastel colored decorations out…need to work on that this weekend!
Fun! I am in the process of doing some spring cleaning and home decorating as we prepare to list our home to go on the market. Praying for a quick sale so we can move to a town that is 40 minutes away…that is where we have faithfully attended church for the past 4 1/2 years and we are excited to see God open doors as He has called us to move into the community and serve!
Blessings,
Teske
P.S. It snowed here in Iowa yesterday and today…our state also missed the Spring memo!
I decorate for just about all of the holidays, major and minor. For spring I have lots of Easter eggs and bunnies and Easter coffee cups and change my table linens to florals and greens. My fav thing to do is to bring in some forsythia and hang my Easter ornaments on it. Happy Spring and the Happiest of Easters too! God bless.
I’m so In
Thanks for the opportunity to win.
New decor is always welcome. ;)
Dear Karen,
Spring is definitely in the air here in Florida along with a lot of sneeze-inducing pollen but that means warmer weather and longer days of sunshine :) I like bringing out the pastels, especially pink. Right now I have pink place mats and a flower filled bowl with pink and green flowers, and a wreath with pink flowers and some shells!
I have a spring wreath and lots of bunnies in the house. I also can’t resist having bowls of pastel colored M&Ms around!
Spring keeps sneaking in to Mississippi in small doses. The flowers are blooming and the trees are budding, but last night’s temps were in the 40’s. Would love to have a fun day in the sun soon. Can’t wait to do the Spring cleaning and put out my seasonal decorations.
I love Spring….reminds me of new beginnings. Like my blooming Daffodils. Here in Southern Virginia had the AC on 2 days ago now the Heat is on….looking forward to some more Spring Sunshine!! Thanks for the tips.
The first thing out every spring are the painted wooden Easter Eggs dated 1994 that were given to us when my husband was baptized.
I enjoy changing my home for the seasons, plus it forces me to clean out things that I no longer need! Bev
I’m in! Just can’t wait for some warmer temps!
With the sun shining through the windows and fresh cut flowers! Georgia is beautiful! Still slightly cool – which is how I prefer it – hope to get a camping trip in before the 80’s set in.
I’m in!
Haven’t done much yet, with Easter so late this year, but I have switched my winter/ Christmas flower arrangements with spring ones (peach dahlias w/ white orchids, pink and white roses), and like you, I switch out my candle scents as well…. Burning now are Yankee’s Island Getaway (i’m rushing it a bit) and an old Illuminations favorite, Bamboo
I’m in and so ready for spring!
I’m in!! I live in the Midwest too, and say, bring on the spring!!!
I love spring bcs it gives me a chance to “brighten” up my home after the fall colors and red/greens of Christmas! We pull out our spring garden flags, change out our front door wreath and then put out some flower swags along our foyer ledge (divides foyer/LR). I also like to pull out my crinkly flower table cloth! In April, we’ll start putting out bunnies and eggs and whatever crafts my child brings home from church!
I’m in!
My favorite thing to decorate with for spring is fresh cut lilacs. I love the color and the scent. I’m always eagerly waiting for them to arrive.
I’m in and ready for the spring weather.
I LOVE spring! It means summer is on the WAYYYYYYYY!
I too start my herbs in the kitchen, as well as start veggies from seed to start outside. (they are in colorful containers and jelly jars with rag ribbon tied around them on the kitchen window sill..so they are decorative too!) :)
I dig out the outdoor flower pots and deck hanging baskets. I hang out a lovely flag that tells the message of the resurection and enjoy watching the daffodils bloom! :)
YAY! for warmer weather!
I’m in. Please pick me randomly. ;-)
Something cute to make with my girls :)
Southern Indiana isn’t sure if it’s ready to release winter! But I am definitely in for the colors and beauty of spring!
For me Easter decorations are simple but they mostly consist of eggs! :O I really like your mantle!
Thanks for the giveaway…I hope you don’t freeze!
I’m in!
Wow would love this! I love spring time and having my windows open and spring cleaning!! I am working on becoming more of a hospitable host so the book would be great!
I used to decorate for Spring but lately with soccer, softball, small group, etc.. I haven’t. So, I’m in!!
I’m in! Would love to get in touch with you about your book. We are hosting our second annual Southern Style Ladies Tea & Gentlemen’s BBQ Cook-Off. We live in Wisconsin. Might be a good book to have!
Over night my garden exploded… lots of duffodils, a yellow sea out there – now really, really spring is here. Had my first tulips on the table and today the first BBQ to welcome spring ( even though it was really cold after a while and we had to head back in the house…)
yeah to spring!
I like everything as clean as I can get it and fresh flowers everywhere, if I can afford them.
I’m in. But Spring means it is time to open the windows and let the fresh air circulate through the house and do some serious spring cleaning. I took the liberty of getting the step ladder out the other day and dusting off the celing fans and moving the switch on each one so that the air circulated down instead of up for the winter. :)
I decorate just by spring cleaning! I especially love to dust and clean the windows to let more light in! I leave the door open to hear the birds singing and the chimes in my trees in the yard! What a beautiful time of year!
Oh,I love the spring time here in South Carolina except for all the pine pollen! Once the pollen is done, the windows get washed inside and out and we spruce up the yard. The azaleas are in bloom, as well as the dogwoods…what a beautiful gift from God!
Love spring here. Time to plant some new flowers for the season.
Spring has sprung in North Texas….my nose can feel it! I’m not a huge fan of green, except as it grows on the trees in the spring, but do love to ‘lighten’ the house with lighter shades of blue and purple. Our sofa is 16 yrs old and dark blue so is pretty much the focal point of the living area so I just try to lighten the room up a bit! Works for me!!!
I’m in – I just hope Mother Nature cooperates soon!
I’m in. Spring is my favorite season. I put colorful wreaths on several doors and a bouquet in my dining room. Also hang spring flags and mini flags outside.
Spring is so awesome. It brings on signs of new beginnings and fresh starts. We have already had temperatures in the 70’s & 80’s. And now this weekend the weather is calling for a wintry mix, which is not at all unusual for this area. For spring I put the Bunny hanging on the front door. I put out my ladybugs on metal sticks in the the shrubbery and plants. I also like to hang a windsock from the tree out front and hang the wind chimes on the back porch. I also try to place a bird house or two around.
I’m in!!!!!
Well here in Massachusetts it’s still pretty cold, it snowed last night– BUT we can hear the birds chirping so that’s a good sign!! :-) I like to change my doors with pretty Spring Decor, and bring out things that are filled with color!! Something for the table, and different color towels for the bathroom, etc. I can’t wait for the weather to warm up, but spring is definitely in the air, my allergies are saying so :-)
I live in Illinois, where we’re still having cold weather, but last month I was blessed to be able to visit Savannah, GA to welcome my nephew home from Afghanistan. The beautiful weather and smiling faces of family have really put me in the spring mood! Time to declutter and bring out my bunnies and spring flowers!
I love to decorate for spring. I will be decorating my firplace mantle since its the first thing that guests see when they enter our home. Lots and lots of Easter decorations all over in every room!
I would love to decorate for spring, but I have not accumulated many seasonal decorations… Fresh air blowing through the open windows is one of my favorite reminders of spring at home!
Count me in, too! Spring was sprung here but it hopped away after 4 in of snow last night and more on the way! In an effort to scare it away my son and I put Easter egg window clings up this afternoon. We are confident it will work! :)
I like to decorate with a few rabbits and noteable “easter” decorations, but have a few items that have rabbits and items that just say “Welcome Spring”. Some fresh smelling candles and pastel items scattered around my home.
Spring is a crazy weather roller coaster here in East TN! Nonetheless, I’m so glad winter is over!
I’m in! Happy Spring :)
It is still freezing here in Western NY, but as soon as those spring flowers start budding, I’ll be waiting to bring them inside to decorate. I also blow out our eggs (compliments of our chickens). They look wonderfully pastel in my glass-hurricane-centerpiece!
I’m in!
I’m in. :)
I plan to de-junk alot and give most of it away. Hmm wonder if hubby is on board?
I’m in! :)
This year I picked up some cute glittery decorations from the 99 cents store. I want to share that I was touched to see Holy Bibles in the Easter section…Someone knew its not really about bunnies …But the bunnies are cute and I have them up in my home :D
With a foot of snow just dumped on us, I haven’t decorated for spring yet; but when I do, I will put spring flowers throughout the house.
I’m In!!
I decorate with spring flowers on the front porch. A few secular Easter themed items and crosses. And I love tulips and Easter lilies.
Easter is my favorite time of year. I love celebrating Jesus victory and resurrection!
I’m in.
I love to decorate simply, with fresh brighly colored flowers- something like bright gerber daisies or tulips. To me they say spring! I also love to open the windows and let the fresh air breeze freshen up the house. Ialso love the house to be filled with bright natural sunlight!:)
I don’t really do much decorating other than Christmas. I don’t have the space for it really. But I do love having flowers and plants in the house so that makes it feel kinda springy all the time!
I Love Spring and Easter! I like to throw open the windows and let the fresh air blow in and freshen up the air inside after being so cooped up in the cold months. Then I like to have spring flowers out on the porch so I can be welcomed home by the colorful pretty blooms. Inside I like to Spring clean and “dejunk”. I love clean simply decorated spaces with a lived in look where its comfy but not sterile. For seasonal decoration I have a bunny and lamb collection that comes out and I love to reflect on Jesus’ Resurrection and what that means in my life. Spring to me is a reawakening of hope and and growth and all things beautiful and natural.
Since so many of you are still freezing, I guess I won’t mention the weather here in central Florida;-) As for Spring decorating, we have a birthday at our house in March, April, and May. My decorating is birthday, birthday, birthday!
Flowers, Flowers and MORE Flowers!! Oh, and beautiful candles…
Flowers, Flowers and MORE Flowers!! Oh, and beautiful candles… And Lots of lace…
I have small children and so we have fun putting up seasonal vinyl clings on our windows and doors. Since there is still snow on the ground, we try to add a little pretty spring inside.
This year I started a herb garden in the kitchen window. I usually decorate with fresh flowers from the garden. Love the daffadills right now.
So thankful Easter is in late April this year! Woke up to 4″ of snow this a.m.
I put away all the snowmen my kids have created through the years and get out the pastel Easter stuff. I love having spring come in the form of my Southern Living and I would love to add your book on my coffee table too!! I’m celebrating my son’s confirmation this weekend and I’ve set the prettiest table with my china and crystal and my silver. I wanted a springy tablecloth but I didn’t see one at Target-really the probably had one but the toddler was screaming mama so loud I couldn’t shop!! Thanks for some more ideas to brighten up my home. They had hydrangeas at Sams today!! Spring is coming, I swear!!
So happy Spring has arrived here in South Carolina. It was an unusually long and cold winter here for us “Southerners.”
I like to bring out my bright spring colored plates and add festive ribbons to all of my wreaths. With forsythia, wisteria, dogwood, and daffodils abloom, there is not much need for further decoration on the outside.
I feel Spring is a time of rebirth and enjoy seeing every morning what new color pallete the Lord has added to my landscape. It gives me such great joy to see His handiwork in the Spring as well as all of the seasons.
I am so ready to clean out and organize my whole house!!! I need all the ideas you can share!!! God bless you!!!
My house flooded in February, and I still haven’t decided what do fix first. This would be a great opportunity to re-model and have fun with it. God bless you.
Rain, Rain, and more rain… here in the Northwest!!
But my daffodil’s are waving at me everyday with their bright shiny ways!!!
Spring is my favorite time. I love the miracle of spring…when you drive down the street one day and the trees are bare and all of a sudden you look and you see the beautiful green archway of spring. The colorful flowers and the hyacinths, my favorite, make me smile. I start wearing flip flops and capris…and just feel free. My favorite service of the church year is Easter. The music and the smell of the lilies. You get so caught up it makes you cry.
I clean everything I can. I like to go outside and see how the plants are waking up from a long winter. Spring is a special time of the year..
I am in!!! To welcome Spring, I love opening the windows, turning up KLOVE, cleaning house, planting plants, playing with my granddaughter, etc.
You are so right…does not feel like spring in Northern Michigan! But I know it’s comming~
We just sold our home and are renting while we look for a new one. Definitely need some spring decorations to be happening amongst all the boxes. Thanks for this reminder for me to slow down and make the place more joyful even if it is temporary. :)
Easter usually kicks me into gear for decorating for spring.
This year we have a Resurrection Tree, maybe we should call it a Resurrection shrub because we are using a very beautifl, bloomed Forsynthia shrub as the “tree”. Adorned with Easter ornaments that the kids paint/color and pertain to the season.
The Forsynthia was such a hit I am now potting other spring time flowers and placing them throughout the home.
I can really say the house does look & smell like spring :) And I will especially need it to because this weekend we are expecting snow in Old Virginia!
Count me in! :)
I try to decorate my livingroom at season change, please enter me in your contest!! Thanks!
Time for my BeeSkeps, Birdhouses and Lighthouses to come back out yee haw!! Thyme for herbs, blossoms and blessings of Sonshine ….and I love how your decorated that mantal. Very nice!
With flowers & easter decor!
whoo hoo! for Spring, sun, and bright colors!
all of my life I’ve been a neutral-colored-kind-of-girl. now that I live in Alaska, with its cold seasons and foot-draggin’ Spring, and now that I have a house full of little boys fighting dark moods and dark days… i’m slowly learning to throw color into my heart and home!
i love you ideas. i need all the help i can get! :)
I love to pick up a $4 bunch of hot pink carnations to add a touch of spring and brighten everything up!
Karen, it was Spring Break this week and my 15 year old grandson (who loves to decorate,yes he does!) came and spent the night with us. He made sure I put away all my snowmen and MADE me decorate for Spring, complete with Bunnies, chicks, and crosses!! He is such fun and I adore him. He makes me organize!!
Happy Spring!!
I love to change out my accent pillows to something with brighter colors, and we have a reversible comforter that has more spring colors.
I change out the flowers in several vases (ie. take down poinsettias and put up tulips). I’m also going to make a few pillows with some lighter colors and fabrics for my newly redecorated living room.
Thanks for the chance to win!
Honestly, I don’t decorate much. My spring decor is cleaning. Sprucing things up and trying to get the stale winter air out.
I love to decorate for the changing seasons and spring is my favorite. I usually clean and I change out the season so the house feels fresh. Some things I have made (I paint ceramics and I quilt) and some things I have bought.
I’m in! I don’t decorate for spring. I just let the dust bunnies multiply and open the window for some fresh spring air!!! :)
LOL regarding the Michigan weather! My Mom is visiting me from Ann Arbor and we no ALL to well about Michigan weather! Well, I live in Atlanta, GA and my new Spring tradition is getting outside and planting an herb and veggie garden. I have conducted online research and I think (pray) that I can do. My daughter (7) is excited to help with the gardening. I also air out the entire house by cleaning and opening all the windows. :-)
Our grandchildren were here last weekend so that was a good time to get out the Easter decorations and let them have at it. Small Easter tree for the breakfast table with little bunnies, eggs, etc. Dining room table has assorted bunnies collected over the years and a large basket filled with candy. Of course I use the special Easter linens too. Would love to win this giveaway.
I need to do some spring cleaning. I would love to redo my bathroom this year with some paint and a new shower curtain and rugs.
I love to get flowers from Trader Joe’s to help brighten up the house. They have great deals for $3.99. Who doesn’t like some pretty roses or Gerber Daisies that just ooze spring. Love to open the windows and let the spring air circulate and watch the sun fill up the rooms. Looking forward to seeing the first blooms burst forth on the trees. The Crochets are already up and the daffodils- Spring is in the air. The winter has passed, behold the spring has come. Sorry to hear that you are dealing with an ice storm- have a blessed weekend Karen.
I hang Easter signs and spring wreaths, change placemats, handtowels and kitchen towels. Of course, clean & clean. I love the sun’s return, but it really shows my lack of housecleaning certain areas over the winter! Yikes! Thanks for the chance to win some awesome gifts. Easter blessings!
I’m in :)
I get out some spring handtowels and a few Easter decorations, but that is all. I could use some help in making things more inviting!!!
I LOVE decorating for spring-or any season but it’s special to get out the colorful things for this time of year. It’s so cold in WI right now and the decorations make it seem warmer.
When spring comes around I start cleaning, everything I haven’t used in a while goes to charity or in the trash. I like to keep things simple or else I defeat the perpose of cleaning out and everything looks and feels cluttered. I try to use what I already have and change them up a bit to give them a new look. I alos look at new trends and try to buy something I can tie in with what I have. So far this year I am please with what I’ve done and will soon be ready to relax and enjoy the Spring wether.
i love to decorate for spring by re arranging furniture and freshen things up with splashes of color like different pillows, vases, etc.
You have some very cute spring decorating ideas. Thank you for sharing. I’m in!!!!!!!!!!!!
I start with an Easter egg wreath that I made for the porch. Then change flowers to daffodils and lilacs. I went to a quilt show and found adorable bunnies and flower pot material, so I’m excited about working on a new wallhanging for above the piano. I also have a grapevine cross that my mom decorated for me with purple tulle and white lillies. It sets the season! Thanks for the reminder that I haven’t done any of this yet and I’m running a bit behind ;)
I’m in! Sure wish SPRING would come to our area. The winds are howling today.
I’m in! And I sure could use some decorating tips and de-junking!!!
I love to get some pansies to put them in a special planter given to me by my great-aunt.
I am in!!!
I’m in! Yeah Spring.
It is dreary here today as well, thank you for the reminder that spring is coming!
I don’t decorate much at all so would love some tips!
I just added some spring ribbon to a wreath on my door and I have some Easter window clings but that’s about it.
I’m in! Can’t wait for spring…….we had snow over the weekend!
It is Autumn here but still quite hot most of the time. We don’t buy our chocolate eggs too early or they’ll melt (even though they have been in the shops since late January!)
I decorate our Easter table with a glass bowl full of chocolate eggs and find the scrunched up foil from them in the weirdest places for a month afterwards!
My spring decorating consists of spring cleaning :). I do have a spring wreath I still need to put out on the porch. The spring storms have begun again so I need to wrap up.
Happy Spring,
Mary
pastel colored fresh flowers on the dining room table is all I usually can think of
I like to decorate for spring with plastic colored eggs, baskets and it’s the one time I like to treat myself to some fresh flowers in vases. Thank you for the chance to win.
Hello,
Spring is a bittersweet time of year for me. My beautiful little girl Melony was born on April 20. Just two years later and two weeks after her birthday, she ate 1/2 of an Easter egg she found and died within 15 hours. She would be 37 this year, and oh how I still miss her…
Easter is also a reminder of how our sweet Lord Jesus gave his life for us, and rose again, so we can be with him and those we love again in heaven. God bless you all as we enter into the beautiful Spring time once again :)
I really need some decorating help, didnt know you had a new book out. Exciting!
I love spring, for 23 yrs. we lived in the amish country, with the rolling hills plowed for planting. Seeing daffodils open there little faces and tulips too. We have moved this year and now i have to find the beauty of spring here and i know i will..there is such a freshness about spring and a new beginning. I thank God for all His blessings and for the seasons of beauty that we can appricate so much. Thanks for your blog. Everything i read it makes me think about things differently. Have a great day Donna
