Hey friends! Today I have an article running over at Roomag.com. It features a few fun recipes to make an Irish theme come alive for your St. Patrick’s Day including an all-day oven beef stew and a green leprechaun layered dessert that is out of this world!
It would make for an easy menu for company this weekend. Click here to see it.
Speaking of company, be sure to get ready for our online study of hospitality based on my book A Life That Says Welcome: Simple Ways to Open Your Heart & Home to Others.
Click here to get information. (And don’t panic if it looks like the book might take a while. I spoke with my publisher yesterday and they are getting another print run in by next week. Besides, if you don’t have your copy by the start of the study, it won’t make you behind because of how I am structuring the first few days.)
Now for fun, check out this trailer that introduces the special guests that will be joining us with tips and fantabulous giveaways. It was made by my new friend and fellow Roomag contributor Gina Smith from Keepin’ It Real. Click here to visit her encouraging her site.
Now, introducing my special guests for the study. I can hardly wait!

Hi Karen, I love your book “A life that says welcome”. I have learned so much from reading it, and I am looking forward to your study on hospitality. I live on my own and have been delivered from overeating. I do not want to have food around that could draw me back into bad eating habits, and I wonder if you could give me some tips on being able to entertain people who just drop in. Even if you can’t, I appreciate you. God bless you. You are great.
Can’t wait! I’ve ordered my book and am anxiously waiting for it! Thanks for doing this study.
Hi Karen: I love the concept of this book. I believe that in today’s high-paced society we have all taken a step back on hosptiality due to our favorite excuse “lack of time”. However, this is the best way to grow in our relationship with others and with God! I am looking forward to this study and to in the future bringing it to our women’s group “Girlfriends of STN” in south Florida. Great topic and very much needed! Be blessed!
Hi Karen,
I am looking forward to the study on your book, A life That Says Welcome. I got my book on Kobo so I am ready to go.
This study sounds fantastic, and it’s right up my alley, too!!! LOVE the subject of biblical hospitality. It might be a little bit before I can afford the book, but I think I’ll add this to my list!!! Oh, the video was awesome….and I recognize many of the ladies mentioned, because I follow their blogs already
Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather
Got your book downloaded on my kindle, and I’m looking forward to this study. We used to entertain in our home, and now we seem to have forgotten how much fun we had. Hope this study brings back the enjoyment from fellowship that we had in our younger days.
Anxious To Get Started
Hi Karen! This very issue is something I have really been struggling with and was JUST honestly really upset over the night before I learned that this study was taking place. I have ordered my book and I can’t wait to get started! This will be my first study to ever do…online or not. Im a new, fresh, learning and excited Christian and I really think this will help me. I already love to entertain and have been blessed with a home to do so. I can’t wait to learn more. Thanks so much for such a great study idea.
I don’t have people over…ever! However, I know it’s important to offer up a welcoming place for friends, family and especially my children’s friends. I’m hoping that this study will be an encouragement for me to move in the direction of hospitality!
Very excited for Monday ~ I’ve always worked outside the home and have a difficult time keeping the house presentable~ but I have always yearned to have an open door!
Thanks – great song on the video!

So excited!
Hi Karen….very much looking forward to Monday’s bible study. Just wanted to let your readers know that if they were worried about obtaining a book on time like I was I found out that if you have an IPAD the Kindle App works for that also!!! So grateful for all of you at Proverbs 31!
Hi, I’m so thankful that you are doing this. I am looking forward to this so much. It’s an area that I need help with. My family moved around so much that I am a more of a loner. I have found a wonderful little church and would like to learn this. Thank you.
I look forward to this study. Always looking for new ways to say welcome.
