I was in North Carolina for five days this past week. I didn’t have time to post on my blog much since I was helping put on our Proverbs 31 She Speaks Intensive conference. (And can I just say that “intensive” is an understatement! Those writers and speakers worked their tails off coming up with messages and book proposals!)

Anyhow, I was able to do a little surfing of the net while waiting in airports to check up one what some of my friends (old and new) are doing.

Here are my top five favorite series/ideas right now from some awesome friends:

My ministry partner (and soon to be co-author—details to come!) Glynnis Whitwer is offering a 15 day clutter challenge. It began this week but the posts are still up so you can start reading then anytime. It will help your home get clutter-free. Click here for details.

My friend Courtney Joseph of Women Living Well kicked off a Valentines Challenge to love on your hubby. She is SUCH an encourager of godly marriages. Click here to join her series.

And my new friend (of three days!) Kathi Lipp was one of the highlights of the conference.

I’d heard of her, but not met her.

When we did meet, we hit it off instantly.

Once I got home and checked out her sight, I saw we write and speak on such similar topics. This thrills my heart!!! No room for competition between God’s girls. We are on the same team-yay! {cartwheel, back flip, splits!} Seriously.

We have such the same heart for encouraging women. Check out her freebies page here for some great downloads.

Next, my friend Ruth from The Better Mom posted a way cool idea for a center piece or cake pedestal using antique plates and glasses. Click here to see a close up of it.

Finally, I got to spend a little time with and hearing from the fabulous Ken Davis over the past few days. I’ll leave you with a clip of one of his classic funny parenting stories. Have a great weekend!!!

  3. Oh my i have loved Ken Davis since i first heard him on Focus on the Family way back in the late 80’s early 90’s. He is the best of the best. It’s so nice to see someone be funny without being dirty, cussing or off-color. He is so totally funny! I love the cake pedestal idea and look forward to hearing from your new friends. Isn’t it neat how God brings such special people into our lives. Have a great day!! and thanks for making mine better!

  6. I love reading your post. However being hearing impaired I’m not able to hear videos but I always enjoy everything else. It looks really funny!

  7. I love Ken Davis! He is such a good Christian man and very funny. I listen to my two DVDs from his collection all the time when I am in the mood for a good laugh. Two of my other favorites include Chonda Pierce and Anita Renfroe. Sounds like you had a great time in NC and glad to hear it was a productive conference. I missed reading your blog all week, but glad to see you are back now. Thanks for providing so much inspiration to me and the other sisters in Christ every week. Have a great weekend! :)
