Snapshots & Changed Hearts

Last weekend I had the immense honor of once again speaking at the fabulousness that is Hearts at Home. This conference for moms is an amazing time of information, equipping, learning and laughing.

My dear friend founder Jill Savage and the entire crew did a bang-up job encouraging 4988 moms and carrying out this year’s theme No More Perfect Moms.. {Yes, I know the exact number. I was the emcee and it was my job to know such things!}

Anita Renfroe made the moms laugh until they almost cried….or needed Depends! And guest keynote and newer friend Candace Cameron Bure did an ASTOUNDING job of clearly presenting her life story of discovering the real meaning of the gospel message and how you can know whether you are going to heaven or not.

Moms were refreshed and lives were changed for eternity!!!

I wanted to post the pictures earlier this week but had a little trouble with my site crashing from too much traffic. So, I had to move it. (Actually, my tech dudette moved it for me while I prayed!)

Okay now, enjoy these snapshots of my weekend. I’ll be back tomorrow with something profound. Or not. If not, then expect a recipe!

Candace, me & Jill {I swiped this from Candace’s Instagram!}

Yes, there was a promo shot of me up on the screen when I spoke. But, since the theme was No More Perfect Moms, they also had up this “Espresso Shot” of me :-) More true to life than the promo!!

My new favorite friend Owen. A former Compassion child who told his amazing story of Hope to the moms. After I interviewed him onstage, 199 new Compassion children were sponsored! Owen rocks!!!

My P31 sisters Suzie Eller, Lynn Cowell & me. They spoke there too!

My assistant Kim Cordes, me, Candace’s assistant Mandy Young & Candace. We were so tired we were wacky.

Author/speaker Shaunti Feldhahn was there.

And two sweet moms from Melissa Taylor’s online Bible study of my book LET. IT. GO. {snap! wish I’d gotten their names–and their permission to post this! Oops!}

A “selfie” of Candace & me. In really bad lighting! Shoulda gone all junior-high-ish and done the ducks lips!

I returned home to our Life Group having its weekly Sunday afternoon meeting at our home. They’d brought dishes to pass and a cake for my Birthday. {it was last week} I adore my online friends but face-to-face, real-life relationships are so very crucial! I love our Life Group & I love our church!

Then, as much as I wanted to crash in bed…..a mom’s work is never done. It was off to the driving range so Spencer could practice for golf team tryouts this week. Yes, that is snow in the background!

Spencer driving balls. His older brother wears proper golf shirts and caps. He opts for the Redneck look of flannel shirts and an Alabama camo hat instead!

That’s it! See you tomorrow.

  3. Karen, it was great to meet you! I said about 2 sentences to you as you walked into your workshop on Saturday ;) I saw you 4 years ago at my first Hearts at Home conference and it was because of you I found Proverbs 31 ministries. Proverbs 31 and Hearts at Home have made an immeasurable difference in my life as a wife and mother. THANK YOU for all that you do!!!! :)
