I like to listen to quiet, when trying to have some alone time with God. It’s the only way I can think. :)
When I spend alone time with God I love to either read my Bible with Charles Stanley preaching in the background or while listening to praise and worship music softly in the background :) Ohhhhh this devotion book looks GREAT!!!
I love to read spiritual books or the Bible in my quiet time with Jesus. I’m TRYING to learn to sit with Him in the quiet, but that’s proving more difficult than I anticipated!
I go to my front porch for devotions. It is just far enough away from all of the things around the house that suddenly need my attention. I can relax and focus on The Lord.
I like a quiet environment for listening to God and my Bible which can prompt me in prayer.
My quiet time includes a devotion, some sort of Bible Study and my prayer journal. Some mornings I have it all together and other days, I divide it up throughout my day.
I love listening to worship music – I feel like it helps usher me into a spirit of worship and it is in that spirit that have the greatest moments with God, in His presence.
At that stage of life, the quiet times are few and far between. So my time with God is usually prayers as I wake up and prayers as I go to sleep with a few email devotionals in between. When I had more time, I would do bible studies in the mornings alternating with other books.
I talk to God and read or listen to music. Sometimes I just enjoy His creation. This morning I watched the aurora dancing across a clear, starry night, it total awe.
I love your daily devotions and with the
email every day, I use the scripture from your message
to try and get closer to God everyday! Thanks for all you do and
the Blessings you provide to so many!
I like to spend quiet time on my porch in a rocker, listening to the birds and the wind chimes. Just being outdoors makes me feel closer to God. There is just so much beauty in his creation!
I’ve been reading “Jesus Calling” and writing in my prayer journal.
I like to listen to the quiet of the morning.. With the busy world pulling us in so many directions…it is nice to just be still (and quiet).
I like to take time to quiet down and listen first or I’ll start off with praising/thanking for my blessings :)
I read devotionals along with praying
As a buys mom of 4 who also works full time – I often find myself in the bathroom, sneaking in some fulfillment while the kids think I’m going potty! (Is that TMI?) :)
I dont get much quiet time but when I do its normally in the car and I sing along to klove and cry. Plus I am enjoying reading unglued late at night that a co worker let me borrow. :)
I get the Encouragement for Today emails everyday. Somedays, I’ll get behind in reading them, but when I do, they always seem to be for me at the right time. God Bless your ministry!
I love to start with worship! Then I get my bible, coffee, and book by Kathi Lipp called “praying God’s word for your life” :)
i read/ pray/ study on the bus so whatever is on my ipod is great!
Music, and daily emails remind to stop and pray. Bible studies with a group of Women every other Monday night, start the week off right and lead me in the direction of more time with God’s word and seeing God’s amazing Gifts.
I love to sit in our “nook”. We have a sun porch off the dining room, with windows on three sides. I have an easy chair with an ottoman in there and I can close the door and just breathe. It’s the perfect spot to sit with my bible and my devotional…or my current bible study materials. Even though it’s only a french door between the nook and the dining room, I feel somehow apart from the rest of the house…and it’s just God and me in that room!
I enjoy listening to Christian music from my Iphone most of the time. This really seems to give me a deeper focus on God & draws me closer to him. I’ve also been enjoying reading devotions from the Journey magazine. All of the Proverbs 31 devotionals that I get in my email have always been a blessing& what I need to hear each day. Thanks for all each of you do to be an encouragement to us women!!
I like to have my God time when it’s quiet…because I feel it allows for me to be more engaged because there are no outside distractions…..and being engaged in it is key
My devotion time is spent on my bedroom floor in quiet with God, me, Bible, pen, and notebook. I journal everything — my thoughts/prayers to God, what I sense God is telling me, and scripture passages that have special meaning for that morning.
I sit in my “prayer chair” that is a glider/rocker. The best way for me is to have complete quiet, and try and “be still”. Of course more times than not, when I do “be still” I have to fight falling asleep. I like to read my devotional, my Bible, and journal when I can.
I love to get up before everyone else and make me a cup of coffee, I’ll normally be reading a book and then feel Him prompt me to stop and really soak in what I just read so then I sit and and listen, hear what He has to say about what I read and I don’t continue to read until He tells me I finally got it.
I LOVE the Christian radio station KSLT; the music can center me back where I need to be, and put my focus on God.
I have been looking for something like this and could desperately use it!
I like quiet time when I’m reading my Bible to concentrate but I LOVE music when worshiping! In the car or around the house!
When I have alone time with Jesus I enjoy listening to classical music and journaling. I also enjoy reading “Jesus Calling”.
When I spend time alone with God, I like to sit out on the deck with the sound of the birds chirping and the waterfall in the pond. Gives me time to decompress. :-)
I like to focus on a scripture or passage then I write thoughts I have about it. I have been reading a book on Discerning Gods Voice and it has given me practical tips on how to sit and be quiet and not just talk at God but listen.
My time with God is that small window of time, when my feet hit the floor. It is before anyone else rises from their night’s slumber. God, me, and my first cup of coffee… Trying to start the day off right!
I enjoy my quiet time in my comfy chair by the window or in my office. I can’t wait to read this book – written by some of my favorite people!!
I’m looking forward to reading it! I can use all the encouragement I can get.
I love listening to classical music (or the study music channel in pandora) while I read my bible and do my study.
Most of the time I prefer it just to be quiet, during some I like to listen to praise & worship music.
Sounds like something I could use!
My favorite time is when i read with my 10 year old daughter, her devotional book each night!
Start early anywhere from 4:15 to 5 a.m. sitting at a table by my window in my bonus room. I love to write in my journal – thanking Him for all He is doing in my life; to read Jesus Calling and reflect on the scriptures for the day. I’ve been reading Proverbs 31 daily e-mails for years (I can’t even tell you how many) and I tell everyone I know about them. I love messages on tape to listen to in the car and also read and listen Christian fiction. It’s incredible how He will speak to me if I will just seek and listen.
I LOVE to listen to KLOVE before and/or after my alone, “quiet” time with the Lord!! I think of it as preparing my heart… and I love the verse in the Bible about “enter into His courts with Praise”. I usually do use a devotional book to help lead my quiet time, because I find that whatever book that I’m reading, God has already placed into my path for just the right time I’ve needed it!!! Sometimes, though, I will feel led to just read the Bible. Since I still feel somewhat immature and “weak’ in my spiritual walk with the Lord, I don’t know the best of ways to really study God’s word, but on the days God’s led me to *just read* His word, He always, ALWAYS provides spiritual discernment as well!! Its sooooo amazing!! I’m so thankful for this awesome gift!! I love to have my quiet time with God outdoors, weather permitting, because I’m surrounded by HIS beautiful nature and creation, and its where not just my body~ but where my soul~ can truly breathe!! I am sooooo looking forward to getting my hands on THIS new devotional!! I just KNOW this will be such a blessing!! Thank you for this opportunity!! May God continue to bless you and your ministry!!
I read my “through the year Bible”, a devotional, or Bible Study materials that I’m currently working on. I really need to work on being completely still before God so that He can speak.
I go to my porch with a cup of coffee and read a short devotion which leads to reflection and prayer:)
I really enjoy my coffee in the morning and quiet, so I can just be in the word or in prayer and not have any distractions or interruptions.
When I have my alone time with God, it’s early in the morning, so I have fresh coffee and the current bible study from Good Morning Girls with me. During just regular time I will likely have KLOVE streaming. Unless I’m in the car, then it’s on the radio since they got a frequency in my area a couple of years ago now. I no longer have to listen to more talking and commercials than music.
I love quiet when I’m reading my devotional or doing a Bible Study. The quiet helps me focus on the Word and God’s truth :-) Thank you Karen!!
I like to have my quiet time with lots of quiet around me, so I can lean in and listen for the voice of the Holy Spirit as I read the Word or pray in the morning time. Later on, I’ll put on Christian music to cover the house with His presence all throughout the day. I’d love to read this devotional!
Though I give Him moments of thanks throughout my day, I always have quiet time before I go to bed. Whether it is reading something inspirational or just praying quietly, I need it to quiet my mind and become thankful.
I like to listen to Positive Encouraging K-Love, for my devotion. I like that along with the positive stories, sometimes I hear from an artist on why they wrote a song, or what touched them, and I am always writing down bible verses that I hear that speak to my heart. As a matter of fact, I found Proverbs 31 by listening to K-Love :)
I like for things to be really quiet..or lightly playing some worship music or old hymns. But I have a hard time focusing as is, so I cant do it when my kids are around or too much going on around me ;)
This book looks awesome! I would love to win it :)
I love devotionals to read before or after I spend quality time with God. I practice spending an hour of silence and solitude with God daily – no background noise, no reading, just listening to God.
I love to find a quiet place in the mornings or the evenings, Just me and God:) I love to sit in the quiet with the Lord.
I’d love this book! it would be a great way to start my day and get me focused before the craziness of the day starts
I have my quiet time with the Lord in the morning before my husband and kiddos wake up. Usually there is the Bible playing on my Ipod in the background while I read my One Year Bible then pray using “The Power of a Praying Parent” and “The Power of a Praying Wife” books as guides.
Once everyone is out the door to school/work. I love to relax in a peaceful place with God. Prayer, bible study & finish off with listening to soaking worship. All set for the day. I continue talking with God throughout the day as I do everyday tasks
I read something from the Bible several times during the day–I get verses on my phone and in my email. I LOVE reading Christian fiction–Ted Dekker or Frank Peretti are two big favorites. They draw me in, make me think of my life and my God differently than I did before. I also love to jam out to Christian music in the car–we have SiriusXM radio, so The Message is on in my car often, or the kids’ music of Go Fish or Denver and the Mile High Orchestra on CD. I try to find at least a few minutes to just sit in quiet with Him daily, too.
I hope these things are helpful to someone else, too.
Carissa in eastern Iowa
I like to read devotionals and my Bible in my favorite comfy chair. :)
I usually use the same devotional for a few years. I read My Utmost for His Highest everyday for 3 years. For the past 2.5 years I’ve read Jesus Calling first thing each morning. I would love to start the new year with the Proverbs 31 Devotional.
I like to get up before the hustle and bustle of my family of 4 kids and a husband. I enjoy soaking up the time that God and I have alone together. My favorite reading (currently) is The Power of a Praying Woman by Stormie Omartian alongside my bible of course, I look to God’s word as my foundation and the light for my path throughout the week. I confess that I don’t make this time with God more of a priority. I am always blessed by my quiet time with the Lord.
I start my morning singing “Give Me Jesus” (my alarm) and move on to reading from My Bible In A Year app. Before I leave for the office I read “Jesus Calling”. I pray the Rosary on my way to the office any time that I can. My morning pretty much revolves around the Lord as once I get to the office I am able to whisper only “I love you Jesus” many times during the day – I’m kept pretty busy. (Although I do try to read the blogs that I follow such as yours).
This devotional sounds awesome and I would be blessed to be chosen to receive it.
I love to sit outside or sit with the windows and doors open so I can hear the birds singing while I am spending time with the Lord. I love to go through devotional books to assist while spending time with the Lord. This book looks lovely and like something I would enjoy reading and studying.
I like to get up before all the kids, get my coffee (which only my hubby knows how to make) and sit in his overstuffed chair with a journal, pen and my favorite Bible. It awakens me and gets me ready for the day.
I like to find any random moment to thank and praise God for the blessings in our lives (though we have been going through a couple years of the most trying times). Many times a day … Being truly conscious of what I have to be grateful for at this time … On this day
Looks to be an amazing devotional. When I have my alone time with God, I love to have praise music praying quietly in the backround. I will sit in the backyard with the music quietly playing just on the other side of my livingroom window in ear shot. I often praise God for the beauty around me, bring up prayer requests for friends and family and sometimes just sit with my eyes shut, sun on my face and just listen to the sounds created by God— trees rustling in the breeze, dogs and a multiple varieties of animals you can hear in the distance. It’s a very peaceful time :)
This devotional looks great. During my quiet time I usually read devotionals and my Bible. I ‘m trying to spend more time in prayer and learn to listen to the Lord speak to me. Also I like to do Bible studies.
My favorite time alone with God is putting in a worship cd & singing along. Most days I just sit & pray before the kids get up & read my devos but I love to sing His praises!!
My favorite thing to do is to listen to the quiet of the morning and see how God is talking to me. I also love to listen to Christian music or even southern gospel music.
I love to have Bethel’s “Without Words” or Chad Lawson’s “Song of Prayer” playing in the background during my alone time with God.
I like complete quiet. I do my devotionals every morning before I go to work, with a warm cup of coffee in hand. I like to sit with word open on my laptop and jot notes for myself.
I love music and a short devotional about topics that help me focus on who God is and his promises, commands etc. All things backed by scripture and not just an opinion. My problems often get elevated beyond the greatness and power of God. Reading these reminders of who He is helps calm my fears.
I just finished “The Confident Heart” by Renee Swope. What an inspirational book! I felt it was written just for me. Tonight I begin Ladies’ Bible Study studying “Why Do You Believe That? by Mary Jo Sharp. I look forward to that. I especially appreciate study time “armed” with my Bible, study book, and highlighter. Quiet time for study, and group time for sharing, bless me so much and feed my soul.
I try to get up early while its still quiet and read my Daily Bread and right now doing a GMG Bible study so I do that.
I so enjoy my time in the mornings with the Lord! A cup of Coffee, my Bible, my devotional and my prayer journal, setting with the Lord listening to what he has to teach me! An awesome way to start the day!! Praising you Lord!
I love to read the Proverbs 31 Devotions that I get in my email each morning.I enjoy using my journal along with my Bible.Spending time with God trying to BE STILL and Listen for God to speak to my heart. This is my biggest desire is to hear from God…
I love devotional books and would love to win this one.
I have a few friends that read the same chapter of the bible to hold me accountable to read God’s word. I also read a daily devotion from Celebrate Recovery daily devotion coming out in December of this year. (I have a sample 30 days) and my favorite is from What happens when women say yes to God.
I have so been working on this. I’m trying to strengthen my relationship with God. Lately, I have been waking a little earlier in the morning & taking a few quiet moments before the rest of the house wakes up to thank God for what I am thankful for, to ask for his guidance with the things that I am struggling with & to ask that he look over certain special people who may need a little more than what we can give them. I like that it is quiet. I might have to start thinking about other ways that I can extend this.
I really love Priscilla Shirer’s Bible Studies and am doing Gideon right now. I have already ordered this new devotional from Amazon, but would love a copy for my friend who is a missionary in New Guinea to put in their Christmas box!
Usually I read Streams in the Desert as I start and then read my Bible. Sometimes going back in my notes and sometimes pulling out other translations or looking something up. I would love to read a new Devo.
One challenge I have is to “Be Still and Know that I am God”. I have to make a conscious effort, and still my mind may wander. One thing I do love to add are the ‘OLD’ hymns on YouTube. George Beverly Shea singing In the Garden or How Great Thou Art reminds me of simpler days and stills my mind of making lists. I would love the new book of Devotionals and thank you for your generous giving.
Currently, my quiet time involves journaling and reading the book Wife After God.
I love praise and worship music to get my quiet time started then reading God’s word.
Proverbs 31 always knows has exactly what I need… I am excited to get this new devotional and spend that quiet time. My quiet time is alone in my room, just me and my Bible/devotional book and the Lord…..after everyone is in bed. Just to be quiet before the Lord.
I look forward to my P31 Devotion every morning. I love listening go praise music in my alone time.
I love to sit quietly and read devotions or the Bible. Such peace comes over me at these times. Since I am in the later years of my life, I can listen to praise and worship music while I am doing my chores with no interruptions. My kids are all grown so I have a lot of time to stay focused on my Heavenly Father. My mother passed away last week so my devotions are extra comforting to me at this time.
Looks like such a lovely book of devotions Jesus is so kind to lead me to devotionals They are such guidelines to usher in His voice & love :) I use the ACTS method most days before I read my Buble & pray A=You adore Him & say all His beautiful names & C=.Confess your sins & repent T= Enter into His courts of thanksgiving & thank Jesus for everything you can think of Then S = Is your supplication of prayer requests I love doing ACTS as it covers everything! I love to sit outside in my adirondack chair under my patio cover A huge walnut tree is in front of me with many dones & squirrels. & cardinals I have to watch I can stay there too long but too long is never enough with Jesus
Blessings
Donna
I need peace and quiet for my time with GOD. Currently,I work on a Bible study on prayer during my devo time. However, each morning I read the P31 devo for the day and the print version of the radio broadcast. I am also reading a book on comfort and will hopefully soon, start a book recommended to me on boundaris in marriage. Most important for me is my prayer time. During this period of trial God is my c.f. comfort,my father, my only hope and source of wisdom.
If my time is in the car KLove is on. Morning time I’m reading all the emails I get from the wonderful women at P31. Evening time it’s the bible the journal and quiet time to reflect. If I get a moment of quiet outside time I code my eyes and focus on sounds of nature the smells and quiet my mind as it floats away from the daily grind and listen for Him
I like listening to worship music and books written by other female Christian authors that both discuss issues we face day to day and that help me grow and learn more about the bible..
I love peace and quiet for reading devotions and journaling. I start that before anyone else wakes up. Then K-love during commute.
I like to sit in my favorite chair with a cup of coffee and close my eyes to focus and hear God. I was recently introduced to your Facebook page and would love the chance to grow with your new devotional publication…Thank you.
I like listening to Christian radio speakers and music. I really like the devotionals from proverbs 31 cause some days they speak so clear and go along with other things God is showing me. I can take one of the scriptures and write it on a 3×5 card to read over it during the day.
I would love to have this book to encourage me to spend time in God’s word.
Reading the Bible, praying and reading devotionals primarily by Dr. Charles Stanley, of Intouch Ministries, and Moody Bible Institute are the ways I spend time alone with God.
Oh, sister, I could use this book! I try to wake up early before my husband and kids to spend some quiet time with God. I read the Bible, but with no real direction. I know I must work on this. My challenge is my consistency and blocking everything else out. Looking forward to this devotional blessing many women around the world!
I would love a copy of this book. Thanks for the giveaway. In this season of life with young kids, one of the biggest encouragements to me is listening to podcasts on the radio. Focus on the Family, Revive Our Hearts etc. I can listen while I do the dishes etc. I also am encourage and challenged in my walk with the Lord when reading books/devotionals by other moms.
Hi Karen! I love having praise and worship music in the background while reading my bible and daily P31 devotion. Music seems to get my heart and mind ready to receive God’s message and instruction.
I would love it..
I like to be in a quiet place in the house, or outside sitting in the grass to have quiet time with God. The new books looks great!
I enjoy re-reading notes from church or bible study notes.
I usually start my day with a cup of coffee and reading “God Calling” by AJ Russell. I have been reading this devotional for most of the past 15 years. I also enjoy my daily reading of Diamonds in the Dust by Joni Eareckson Taxa. Then I either pull out The Word Among Us for the daily mass readings and meditations or my current Bible study book (right now it is Julie Gillies “Prayer For a Woman’s Soul), Bibles and my journal. My real “quiet ” times take place in my car on my way to work or anywhere…sometimes listening to KLove or sometimes in silence. My day ends as I relax reading Proverbs31 devotions, ladies’ blogs or more Bible study…but my favorite time of all is on Friday nights from 11:00 pm to 1:00 am as I spend time in the Lord’s Presence in Eucharistic Adoration where I can just be with Him…I fondly call it “Hanging out with the Lord!” I often dream that I could just spend every waking moment with my Triune God…what a dream fulfilled that would be! Sorry to go on so long but spending time with my Lord Jesus is very important to me! God bless you all!
I sooo enjoy journaling, reading my KJV Bible while I listen to the ESV bible on my iPhone & LOVE listening to Kim Walker Smith – Jesus Culture. All with my Almighty Daddy. (:
I set my iphone timer to 10 minutes. I take those few minutes to let God speak to me. With Bible and pen and paper in hand, I write or read scripture or sometimes the page may say “Be Still” Ten minutes was a struggle at first for me to stay focused but now it goes too quickly. This time is so refreshing to me. I cherish these moments.
My best times with God Are while I am praising Him in worship. Singing song that worship Him with arms lifted up in surrender.
I enjoy quiet hours with the Lord before anyone is up in the morning and after everyone is in bed at night. I just like to thank him and tell him how grateful I am for all he has done for me and my family along with those who surround me. I can’t wait for the day my whole being will be spent with him. No errands, no dissappointments, and no more tears. Until then I will occupy til he comes. Thank You Father!!!
I’m up before the crack of dawn so try I spend some quality time with just me & God each morning. I love going through my emails to find my daily devotionals that I have sent to me, beyond that I like to read a chapter or two from the bible a few times a week. Not always as good at the bible reading as I used to be… but that’s just something to work on again ;)
I also try to wake up with a prayer & go to bed with a prayer.
I like to listen to praise and worship music. I find it super convenient, esp. as a background music at work, and then I noticed my mind manages to record on the ‘backburner’ what I listened to, so later on I end up humming some of the songs, which keeps my mind on God :) Sitting quiet so far has not worked out for me because then my mind starts spinning 1000 thoughts, and I feel like it defeats the purpose of spending time with God.
I’ve been receiving your Encouragements (Prov.31) for a few years now. I’d love to win the book. And the cover looks sooo elegant! good choice!
Besides spending time in prayer and using a couple different Bible study plans, I have been keeping a Blessings Journal for the past few years. I started it when I was going through an extended, particularly grievous, time of difficulty with my oldest child. As I saw her spiritual life spiraling downhill, I found myself wallowing in self pity. I admit that I found it difficult to thank God for anything because I could only focus on what I considered “the bad”. I decided to make a list every morning of the blessings God gave me on the previous day. It it a good source of reflection and can open my eyes with wonder and my mouth with praise!
I love to spend time praying in my car when I am by myself. The quiet helps me focus on what and who i need to pray for. I would love to win the book.
I work full time so a lot of my quiet time is spent in my office beofre I start working. I turn off the lights where I can see the city lights glow and the sun rising, I get a cup of coffee, and work on my bibe study I am doing through Good Morning Girls.
I spend time with The Lord in my bed! I have been working on transforming my bedroom to a place of rest (instead of chaos) but the only place to sit is in my bed!
I enjoy reading the gospels with the corresponding chapter in Desire of Ages by Ellen White. The combination helps the stories to come alive for me.
I like to sit on my big swing out in my flower garden and just enjoy the peace and quiet where I can talk to God and revel in his creations- the hummingbirds, all the different flowers, etc. It’s very relaxing and the perfect place for my time with Jesus.
When my time Alone with God. I play music softly…. Quiet my mind and have a devotion book and my bible and I just sit. Waiting to feel a prompting to read a little, hum along, read a passage or just pour my heart out to God in prayer. Sometimes I just close y eyes and let my heart speak. God knows my desires and my needs and as I worship into his presence I find Him waiting for me.
I have a Bible or two with different translations, a notebook, and my favorite pen. I keep it quite. I can’t hear God with a lot of noise going on around me. I write down what God speaks to me. I go back and reread what I wrote down. It is amazing to look back and see how God sometimes spoke a word before I even knew I would need it.
I’m experimenting with different things at different times. I find it is hard to be still in my mind so I’m practicing sitting or laying in the quiet without any music. I do some soaking prayer where I listen for God and soak in His presence with soft instrumental worship or Taize music playing. I also journal where I reflect on something I read or heard, ask God questions and write His responses down. I love how He meets me in these practices and so many other moments during my day.
When I am alone with God, I have a conversation with him in my head saying everything I am thankful for. I enjoy nature which is his creation. God has brought me to Proverbs 31. I am 63 years old . I am now living on a small income . I thank God everyday for Proverbs 31.
On these brisk fall mornings I enjoy opening the Word with a few cherished devotionals, a cup of hot tea and a quilt….when I am able to be home for a while in the morning, I light a candle and soak Him in!!
I love to draw & journal while listening to praise music (or prays-music)! ;)
sitting at the kitchen table, a cup of tea, being involved in a specific study and journaling has been refreshing for me.
Nothing as special as meeting God everyday and have fellowship with Him! I use a devotional and read my Bible using a Bible in a Year plan. Your new devotional sounds like it’s a really good one… would be happy and blessed to be one of your recipients :) Thanks in advance :))
I love to listen to praise music – especially Hillsong – and write on my blog, when I can…
I read the Word. Got serious 27 yrs. ago and have missed 1 day…reading and
journaling what i learned each day. Only God can get a person to His Word every day!
I like to read devotionals that have references to Scripture (e.g. Jesus Calling by Sarah Young). I alos LOVE to do this first thing in the morning when it is quiet and I am most at peace.
I also like to have quiet. I have been memorizing Eph chapter 6 with my boys. It is a good focus for me.
OK. So first thing in the morning I log onto Facebook. I type out the next verses I am in in the Bible. God told me to type the Bible onto Facebook and it took me a year before I was obedient and started. I think it is going to take me a long time, I am only in Numbers right now. Then Our church has a prayer calendar where every family in our church has a day, and a few extra days we pray for other things. So I pray on Facebook for whoever day it is. A lot of our congregation uses my facebook page to see who we are praying for. Then I list the chapters to read in the Bible to read the Bible in a year. I get them from Elizabeth Georges website. Love her. And then I tell a little about what I am doing that day. Then I go sit on the toilet and read my Bible chapters for the day in the quiet away from the children and the hustle and bustle of my house. Stop laughing now. Giggle.
I like to sit on my couch early in the morning before my littles wake up with my coffee, my bible, my journal, and whatever devotional book I am using at the moment. I ask God to direct my quiet time which then leads me to prayer, journaling praises or concerns, moving to my devotional, or spending time in an area of the bible. I am excited for this devotional!!!
For me, to have a cup of coffee, worship music, and my bible with no interruptions is enough and all I need. But I do love a good book too!
My alone time with God includes reading the P31 encouragement/devotion for the day, followed by some time in OBS and time in the word. For a time of peace, I love to listen to instrumental music–rock, lullabies, hymns. I read. I write. I reflect.
I look forward to my P31 Devotion every morning. I love listening to praise music in my alone time, I usually keep it playing in the background. My husband calls it my “Jesus music”. My husband is only 9 months out from a heart transplant, and we are both many more times more spiritual than we were before!
Proverbs 31 have a lot fun, new projects to enjoy!
