Keeping Hearts at Home

Welcome to all of you who stopped by because you were part of the wonderful Hearts at Home Conference this weekend! I hope you laughed, cried and learned lots at “Mommy School” and that you left refreshed, renewed and ready to return to your life as a mom with a fresh new perspective!

For those of you who attended my workshops on getting organized and wanted to purchase on of the Mom’s Brain in a Binder systems that my boys put together, we should have more ready by the first of the week. We’ll purchase everything on our way home from Illinois today and since we are taking spring break this week, Mitch and Spence should have time to put them together on Monday. Just keep checking my site and as soon as they are finished, I’ll post ordering instructions.

Well, I’m still at the hotel trying to get settled in with my entire family of five so we can get some sleep after an exhausting yet exhilarating few days. So, I think I’ll sign off now and try to drift off to sleep. However, if you aren’t too tired and are one of the Hearts at Home attendees who is visiting this blog for the first time, I’d love for you to leave a comment letting us know what your favorite part of the conference was. Or perhaps what God taught you about being a mom to your delightful and unique children. Or what changes you are hoping to make in your life due to something you learned this weekend. Let’s encourage each other in the mission of motherhood!

Sweet Blessings,

  • Hi Karen!
I really enjoyed you at Hearts this past weekend…I loved your skit in the morning session…Too funny! I also appreciated your “Keeping your Ducks in a Row” workshop. I think of myself as being a pretty organized person, but I loved your Brain Binder and I will definitely have to give that try! SMILES!

  • Hi Karen! Just dropping by to say how great it was to see you again at Hearts! You are such an inspiration and a blessing! Thanks for signing my copy of your book; I can’t wait to get started reading it! Hope you’re able to get some rest this week! God bless you! adding your blog to my RSS feeder… :)

  • Karen,

I attended your workshop on Keeping your ducks in a relative row and I loved it! I want to thank you for your ideas on keeping the home decluttered and your family fed as I have a terrible time with this kind of thing- it is only getting worse as the kids are getting older. I have never tried “Helper” but only b/c I didn’t even think of it! The hardest thing is getting rid of information or at least organizing it and I was encouraged – (hurry, brain in a binder!)

Thank you for your skit – there were so many relatable moments – I especially enjoyed your depiction of the nursing mom as well as the wicked witch of the west. I laughed so hard I cried.

As the previous mom said, I had a great weekend and am looking forward (ha!) to getting with the program.

  • Thanks Karen for being such an inspiration. I have seen you every year at hearts and every year you inspire me!!! I loved your 2 workshops and can’t wait to put into practice some the ideas you have. Also can’t wait to get my freezer cooking book I ordered. Just wanted you to know that you inspire me!

Thanks so much for your ministry!!!

  • HI Karen! Loved your “Keeping your Ducks in a Row” workshop yesterday. I can’t wait to make my own Brain in a Binder. What a wonderful idea. That will hopefully put an end to our kitchen paper clutter once and for all :-) I can’t tell you how happy my family will be not to see my witches hat come out every time we clean off the table for dinner :-) Thanks so much!!

  • Karen,

I attended both of your workshops yesterday and loved your skit during the main session on Friday (I was a 2 day attendee). Your Ducks in a Row workshop came at the perfect time for me. On Thursday, the day before the conference, my husband an I put an offer in on our dream house in the country. I got word from my husband Friday afternoon while I was at the conference that we got the house! We are very excited, but there is a lot of work to be done here at our current home to get it ready to put on the market. I left your workshop yesterday afternoon ready to conquer the world! :) De-junking starts today!

Thanks so much for the inspiration! I had a great weekend and left so inspired and motivated as a mom!
