How to Stay Home & Change Lives

When I was sixteen I wanted to change the world for Christ. I had just begun my relationship with Christ and started attending a missions-minded church. I heard of the people in far off lands who needed help.

I wanted to go someday.

I would take them clean water or medicine or teach them a new skill. I would introduce them to Jesus and the Bible.

Today, I am a work-from-home mom with a laptop and an unchanged desire. I still want to touch lives for God.

But He has shown me I don’t always need to leave home to do it.

And you don’t either.

Last year alone Proverbs 31 Ministries encouraged over 500,000 women daily through Encouragement for Today devotions, witnessed over 4000 salvations through events and online ministries and responded to over 10,000 prayer requests.

And the sweet staff and volunteers in our tiny office counseled thousands of women in crisis and intervened to stop suicide attempts, divorces and more.

I get to be a part of this move of God. So do our donors.

The ones who give hundreds….

And the ones who go without a latte today and give $5.

We might not be giving clean water, but we help women stuck in sadness or sin discover a cleaned-up life in Christ.

We might not be dispensing medicine, but we are pointing women to the Healer who can make their spirits whole.

We may not be teaching them a basic life skill such as planting and harvesting as the missionaries at my church did. But we are teaching them other needed skills such as how to study the Bible, mend a friendship, strengthen a marriage or connect with their child.

Would you pop over to our President Lysa TerKeurst’s page today when she asks you to join us in reaching the world from right where you are?

She and her husband have made an INCREDIBLE offer to match monies donated today.

I’ll be staying right here, touching lives from my living room in my sweatshirt and jeans.

Will you join me?

  1. Your post is for Thurs and Lysa’s request was for WEd, is it still good? I am behind in my emails. Could we only give on Wed or do we have more time for her to match our money, those of us who don’t read email everyday.
    Please let me know.
