My Favorite Christmas Recipes

Tomorrow I’ll be a guest at Glynnis Whitwer’s Sweet and Simple Christmas Open House and then I will post on Christmas Eve. Then, I am taking a break until January 7th to spend time with my family.

Need some last-minute recipes for serving or giving? Here are my favs.

hope you have a blessed Christmas!

Candy Cane Cappuccino

This makes a great last-minute gift for teachers, coaches, the mail carrier, etc….

1 cup powdered non-dairy creamer

1 1/3 cups sugar

1 cup instant coffee powder

1 cup hot cocoa mix

8 regular size candy canes

Blend all ingredients in a blender on high until a smooth powder results. Place in small baggies tied shut with red and  white curling ribbon. Add a tag that  says, “Candy Cane Cappuccino- 3 heaping tablespoons to a mug of boiling water.”

Christmas Muffins/Bread

Try this easy Christmas muffin/bread recipe. It starts with a white cake mix and with a little doctoring up, becomes a pretty green and red treat! We have made this for the past 16 years and always receive requests for the recipe. Enjoy!

1 white cake mix

1 box instant pistachio pudding mix

1 16 ounce bottle of maraschino cherries, drained well

2 teaspoons all purpose flour

2 T. or more white sugar

eggs, oil and water as called for on the cake mix box

Make the cake batter according to box directions, adding the dry pudding mix. Toss cherries with flour after draining. Add to mix. Place in muffin tins lined with paper cups or in greased and floured loaf pans. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake according to box directions (350 degrees-muffins 20-25 minutes, bread 45-minutes to an hour, depending on pan size.) Remove and cool. Enjoy!!!
Yield: 24-30 muffins or 2-4 loaves

  5. I found the cutest stocking stuffer or teacher’s gift this year: candy cane stirrers for hot chocolate! They’re so simple – just melt some white almond bark coating in a double boiler, dip the end of a candy cane in and stick it into the heart of a large marshmallow and let harden. Then dip the marshmallow in the coating and dip into crushed candy cane and let harden. The finished product fits nicely into a ziploc snack bag. You can make one or dozens. I used the short fat old-fashioned stick candy (available at Hobbly Lobby, Rite-Aide and Dollar Tree), but the regualr canes would work, too. Have fun!
