d8.22Did you find your way here after reading my Proverbs 31 devotion today called I Want All The Answers Now? If so, welcome!

If not, this devotion is on wanting God to “spiritually skywrite”, telling us just the whats and whys of life along the way rather than making us wait. {Sometimes a loooooong time!} You can read the devotion by clicking here but be sure to come back here to share a prayer request and enter to win a copy of my book and Bible study curriculum LET. IT. GO. How to Stop Running the Show & Start Walking in Faith.

Okay……..are you back? Great!

In the devotion I say:

By God not giving us explanations at each turn, it builds our faith. We can go to Him in prayer asking Him to calm our anxious hearts. We can ask Him to increase our faith so we aren’t consumed by the questions, and help us trust that He — the ever-wise parent — has good in mind for us.

It is God’s job to unfold our future. It is our job to trust and glorify Him as He does. Let’s stop asking Him to spiritually skywrite all the answers and let’s write His promises on our hearts instead. And then? Let’s live like we believe them.

So, what prayer requests do you have? Please share them here. {I’ll be popping in here on and off over the weekend to see your requests and pray. And I hope you all will pray for each other. Using the “reply” feature to someone’s comment and actually telling them you are praying, or even typing out a short prayer, is so uplifting and I encourage you to do so.}

let-it-go-bundleOne person will be chosen from among the comments and replies to win a copy of my book LET. IT. GO.: How to Stop Running the Show & Start Walking in Faith, along with the 6-week DVD teaching series including one Bible study guide.

You may watch and do this Bible study alone or gather a few friends or church members and form a group.

LET. IT. GO. is a somewhat humorous, yet spiritually practical book will help you to:

  • Take control of your schedule yet welcome interruptions from God
  • Draw the line between mothering and micromanaging
  • Influence your husband instead of manipulating him
  • Learn to control your emotions when you can’t control the circumstances
  • Stop pursuing the appearance of perfection and start pursuing the person of God

Okay friends, what prayer requests do you have, especially the ones where you wish you had all the answers now?

{Don’t forget to hop on and reply to pray for others!}

Fortunately, the older 2 are in school, but the youngest is not in school yet, but she cannot care for him alone! They have mountains of debt and very limited resources! They live almost 3 hours away from us. Fortunately, they do have great friends nearby with children near the same ages. The other side of the family lives 3 hours away on the other side! Beth is an only child and Todd has one brother. Todd’s mom is in ill health too!

  4. I need prayer for my grief. My husband went to Heaven 3 and a half years ago. I had my first relationship that ended recently not by my choice. The grief of loosing that person and the loss of my husband mingles and I can be so heartbroken at times because of the loneliness. I sooo want to know what God has planned for me now. Please pray that I will trust and glorify God while he unfolds my future.

Thank you for this and I will be praying for you as well. It is a blessing just to be able to ask for prayer.

  6. I would like some prayers for a move I just made, along with my transition to a new town (thankfully, not a new job), I am also trying to trust that the Lord has a plan for me in all of this. When it rains it pours…I am almost 30 and have recently watched my younger sister get married and I cannot help but wonder sometimes if God has forgotten me in the process. Please, while I am still waiting for God’s will for my state in life, pray for peace, acceptance and love with my relationship with my sister, and for trust through the process of transition. Thank you!

  7. Please pray for my family as we are in the midst of not knowing where we will live. We are facing moving again for the 3rd time and not sure what will happen to us. I TRUST GOD…but so desperately want to know. Do we get to stay in our home or will we have to move. I have a child that will be heartbroken if I have to uproot him again. Please pray for us. God Bless

  8. I am struggling with fears, anxiety and regrets. I am newly remarried…almost a year now. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for the last 5 months, without success. I have deep scars from my past relationship that I am trying to fully heal. My ex husband previously stated he never wanted children and just now had his second with his mistress from our marriage. I am crushed and heartbroken. I feel like I can’t hear God speaking to me in any way. I want so much to be someone’s mommy. I want to share that love and bond with my husband. I am struggling with anxiety and difficulty sleeping. I just long for God to clue me in on if my heart’s desires are his desires for my life. Please pray for a clear message to be spoken to my ears and for children if that is God’s plan, and if it isn’t how to cope with that knowledge.

  9. I have struggled with worrying and anxiety my whole life. Right now the main source of my anxiety is my children. My daughter is getting ready to move this week. She is an adult but is going to be living 11 hours away. I find myself constantly in tears and dreading the whole thing. My son is a teenager and has made some poor choices and lied occasionally. Now I find myself obsessing about him all the time. What is he doing, who is he with, is he making good decisions, is he ever going to mature, etc. He also has a girlfriend. I know this age appropriate. but I worry about how serious he is about her. I pray constantly about my kids and their well being and salvation, but I am really struggling with letting go and trusting God. I have a hard time being patient and waiting for God’s answers. Please pray for us.

  10. Good morning
I have only read the devotion today 25th. I am so happy that I read it for it is so like me to keep on looking towards the sky for the beautiful skywriting of our Lord Jesus. But I am blind for I see nothing and I am deaf for I do not hear his voice. (Figure of speech).
Reading your blog and knowing that there is so many prayer requests before mine, I know that there are those fellow Christian sisters out there, whom has a bigger need than my own. I feel embarrassed to ask when others are in more need.
My husband has been praying for work as he has been looking for almost 13 months now. We pray and believe that the Holy Spirit will guide us on the right path and that God would open the door for us … but it has been so long and still nothing has happened. We give thanks, go to church, praise and worship and believe in our hearts, but thirteen months is a very long time. Are we doing something wrong? Not praying right? I know that we must have faith and some days we have more than others. I pick him up when he falls down and when both of us fall then we pray together. I hope it does not sound bad but I even thought that God is too busy helping others and that he would get to us eventually. I hope it does not make a bad person of me and pray for forgiveness if it does. I love God unconditionally and know that He loves us too. But how do you keep faith when its been 13 months and nothing has happened yet? Please pray with me that our strength in faith will grow from being a small mustard seed to being a wonderfully big tree. I know the answer will come and he will find the appointed position God has in store for him, I must just keep faith.
Thank you for the devotion and my apologies for the mini-novel.

  11. My husband decided that after 20 yrs of marriage that he wants a divorce. He filed Nov 2013. I prayed and asked God to restore my marriage. I believe He answered me and said He would. I have seen where God has answered prayer and been silent. I’ve heard Him say Be still and wait. Watch what I’m about to do.

Asking for prayer for my husband( (he was a deacon before he decided for us to separate) (he is now backsliden and has another woman and her children living with him. He thinks he is going to marry her) my 3 children. My daughter is also backsliden and cutting. My sons are so hurt and confused. There is so much hurt in them. Please, pray. I’m hurting myself and not sure how to comfort them. My children are starting to question whether God is real.

    1. Our God is alive! He sees your tears and catch them in His mighty hand. I will pray with you Brandi. Our Father will hear our prayers.
Dear Father. Please be with Brandi and her family. I pray ps. 91 over her Lord, that the enemy will not steal her husband from her, but that You Heavenly Father would intervene. Please protect her and her children so that they do not dwell away from your loving arms. Please lead her husband back on the path to you Father. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

  12. Natalie,
Praying for your daughter Hannah. I work in mental health and I know how scary it can be. Praying for right guidance.

Please pray for my daughter Molly. She is 18 and unmarried and is pregnant. The father is out of picture. This was a shock since she was registered for college and had scholarships to go. I have been so heartbroken and overwhelmed and in grief. Please just pray that I will be able to accept this and God will bring Molly back to himself. She has health issues which also add a lot of fear for her well being through a pregnancy. So overwhelmed.

    1. Praying for you Vicki. Praying for God to protect your daughter and that her baby will be healthy. Praying for her pregnancy. Praying for God’s will in her life and for God to use this time to bring her back to Himself.

  13. Dearest Terri, try praying a prayer of faith pouring your heart out to God who already knows every fear and worry AND His plans to continue providing for you and your family. I did this last week for my son (my only child) who was out of work with a wife, precious child, and another on the way. I felt such peace and faith that God was already fulfilling good and He did!! I find it’s so much easier to trust God to bless others, but so difficult to trust He has good in store for me. I agree in prayer with you and expect Him to come through in ways you never would have imagined!
I will try to trust our Lord with almost 3 years cry of my heart (really life long) for a godly husband. Other than my prayers for my son last week, I had given up on God, but He proved His faithfullness and knew how far my heart has fallen from Him, but He never gives up on us! Thank You, Lord!!!
Let Him keep you in perfect peace. Blessings and encouragement to you.

  14. What perfect timing this devotional is today. My husband is coming to the end of his severance pay, with no job, and we are truly coming to a crossroads. He has worked like crazy to find something, with no positive results. My anxiety level is constantly rising, but I can’t let him see it because he interprets it as no confidence in him. Please pray God opens a huge door for him which will meet our financial needs (paying our own bills as well as 3 children’s college tuition). Please pray for my trust to increase as well. Thank you, Terri

  15. Please add my daughter Hannah to your prayers. She had a baby 6 weeks ago and the hormones from all the changes have sent her into a mental health crisis. Pray specifically that God will direct her husband and me on the right path to bring her to healing and fullness in Christ.

I enjoy your devotions and your blog – they are often times just what God has for me that day. Such a blessing!

  16. I have a special prayer request. I am a senior in college, and I have made several very close friends in the past three years. Last year, one of them shut me out of her life. It has been so hard to accept. My prayer request is that God would show me whether or not I should reach out to my sweet friend, or to simply accept that the friendship is over.
Thank you for your prayers friends!!

    1. Lauren, I am praying that the Lord will heal this relationship or bring new relationships into your life that will be healing for you. Dear Jesus, thank you for my sister Lauren! I ask that you would be with her in this time of uncertainty with her relationship with this particular friend. Bless her in her steps and guide her in the path that you have for her. May Your will be done. Amen.

  17. Funny…as I was reading, I kept thinking about all of the people in my life who really need this study. As I got toward the end, I was suddenly aware that I am the one who needs this study. Will be purchasing today! If I win a copy I will share it in the break room at work. Thanks!

  18. Hello All, I am so blessed and want you to know I am praying for you and your situations. I thank God for all that I have and all that he has blessed upon me, my children, and my family. 19. I have a special prayer request for my family and I. I am a 26 year old girl. I have been blessed with the opportunity to go back to college to acquire a second degree and given a chance to pursue my dream of becoming a pharmacist. I prayed for 2 years about this decision and God opened every door for me along the way. I have been in school forge past two years finishing up my pre requisites in order to apply for pharmacy school. I have been working part time at a pharmacy as well. My husband decided he wanted to open up a local outdoor store in our home town in order to create a business for our family to have once I became a pharmacist he could work there and help raise our children. So this past spring we opened a business that I work at, attend school, and work part time at a pharmacy. Needless to say I have a lot on my plate. We began trying to conceive in January of this year and have not been successful. It has been emotionally draining and the worst part of this is my mother suddenly passed away in March from a brain anuerysm. We were extremely close! It has been very hard to accept. I finally went to a fertility specialist who has been doing blood work and tests to solve my problem. I have not had a period since April. On Thursday morning the Dr told me I have a pituitary tumor (brain tumor) that is producing too much of a certain hormone. They have given me medicine to reduce the tumor and hopefully resolve my hormone problems. It has been a lot to swallow and hard not having my best friend/mom to call and lean on. I serve a mighty God and I know He is right here beside me, but I would appreciate any prayers sent my way. Thank you for reading this. I pray that God will bless you and your family as well!
