Love Your Life Friday with Chessa Moore: Be Still and Know

Today for #LoveYourLifeFriday is an easy art project to spruce up any space or give as a gift!

Here’s Chessa with a simple tutorial:

My daughter pin’s a lot of things that she wants me to make. This was one of them.

We love this phrase, part of the verse from Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God.”

We started out with only few supplies. Canvas, chipboard stickers,
paint in various ombre shades and a foam paint brush.

With a ruler and pencil in hand I drew some lines so I could space my letters out evenly.

This part was easy because the letters already had sticky backs.
I just placed them on the lines, justified on the right side on the canvas.

And then the fun part-painting! I started with the darkest color and worked my up the canvas.

Sometimes I blended some of the colors together.

When I got to the top I added a lot of white to the blue.

There really isn’t a wrong way to do this. And the possibilities are endless!

This hangs in my daughter’s room. But it really would be a great addition anywhere.

famliy2Chessa Moore is the wife of Ben and the mother to teens and near-teens: Sidney, Tyler and Katelyn. She’s the kind of girl who can’t sit still and always has to be creating something. If she sees something she likes, she sets out to determine a way to create it herself! Occasionally, this means she gets her handy-husband and creative-kiddo’s involved in the project(voluntarily or otherwise)!

You can find her documenting these adventures on her blog, Antsi-Pants. Chessa loves to spend her summers in Michigan, on the beaches of Lake Michigan, enjoying the mild winters in North Carolina, and checking out God’s creative handiwork, every place in between. Check out Chessa’s Etsy shop where you can pick up some of her crafted treasures.
