We were supposed to go a few weeks later to Spain for a very small “family and close friends only” wedding. It was a secret we had been keeping for months. Instead, she got married in North Carolina in our friends’ backyard, in one of the first socially-distanced Covid weddings. They threw the impromptu ceremony together in less than eight hours. We watched it all from a laptop screen here in Michigan.

When things don’t go as planned, we can complain and pout. Or, we can choose to look on the bright side.

My husband didn’t get to walk her down the aisle. I didn’t get to help her get ready. None of her siblings were present. However, she married the man we’ve been telling her for nearly a decade she should date. He loves Jesus. And he loves her. In that order. And for that I am thankful.

Congrats Kenna and the social media-less J. None of this surprised God any. We are so very grateful that He is the center of your marriage. 💕
